For this second mini feature in our ‘Meet the Team’ series, we sat down with operations manager Cat at Hop&Co. HQ for a candid catch-up.

Cat trawled all the way back to the 1970s to find a junior school portrait of herself aged 8 in honour of Hop’s recent 8th anniversary. Looking at those chubby cheeks and blonde hair, we don’t think she’s really changed all that much!

What do you do at Hop&Co?

“I’m Hop’s operations manager. A big part of my job is streamlining operations, driving efficiency, and searching out new business opportunities. I also look after Hop’s own PR, whether that be crafting the weekly Friday LinkedIn round-up, creating content around Hop’s latest news, writing up case studies for our website, or identifying and completing awards entry opportunities.”

What’s your favourite part of working here?

“Definitely our work family - the Hop team is such a lovely bunch, and I’m proud to say we do a great job of looking after one another. We spend most of the week in the office together, so it’s a real bonus to work with fabulous, supportive people.”

What does a day in your working day look like?

“I like being organised, so I start every day by compiling my written to-do list - I find it very satisfying to complete a task and physically tick things off my list. As for the rest of my day, I could be writing blog posts or press releases, crafting website content for one of our lovely clients, compiling policy documents, or working on new business tenders. As I’m also the unofficial office grammar queen, there’s usually also something that needs proof reading or copy editing! I try to get out for a walk every lunchtime, so I’m refreshed and ready to go for the afternoon.”

How do you stay motivated?

“By surrounding myself with positive, inspirational people and ‘zenning’ out at hot power yoga whenever I can – usually four or five times a week.”

Who in the world inspires you most?

“My kids – they’re both amazing, resilient people and two of my most favourite humans!”

Which social media platform do you like using the most?

“I’m going old-school and say Facebook is my favourite social channel. I love seeing what my friends and family are up to, and it’s a great way to catch up when I don’t have time to call them for an extended chat.”

“I love our team ethos - we work hard, but we have fun too.”

Who’s your favourite influencer, and why?

“I love picking up tips on best yoga practices and empowering expertise, so @hannahbarrettyoga or Calum @ashtangacheshire - his classes are wild!”

What is one of your favourite brand campaigns, and why?

“The Levi Jeans TV adverts from the 80’s & 90’s were amazing, particularly the one in the pool hall. A cute guy and a classic Clash soundtrack; need I say more…?”
