Paying homage to Hop’s 8th birthday back in January this year, Claire (reluctantly) provided us with this super-cute pic of herself at eight years old!
“It has to be the variety! We work with a range of clients in both consumer and trade industries. Being able to switch between the two keeps you on your toes and means the type of work is varied. From planning an influencer event and speaking to national media about a news story to managing video production days, the work is diverse and offers everyone the chance to keep learning new skills.”
“Is it too much of a cliché to say no two days are the same?
“I work across the majority of our clients and head up the team from a PR point of view. First things first, I have my morning cup of tea while reading the morning headlines – in the world of PR and social, it’s important to keep up to date with current affairs, trending topics, and industry news.
“I usually have at least one client meeting per day – we try to make these face-to-face where possible because there’s nothing like seeing clients in person to really gauge how they’re feeling! Then it’s back to my desk to catch up on emails and content creation. This can be anything from drafting blogs, crafting press releases, copy-checking newsletters, and just general client comms.”
“Celebrating successes. It’s easy to get bogged down in the every day, especially in our industry, where things move so fast. So, to help keep myself (and the team) motivated, it’s important to celebrate every win, even the small ones!”
“I have so many incredible people in my life that I actually can’t pinpoint just one person that inspires me the most – they all inspire me for different reasons!
“My parents have always been huge inspirations for me. My mum is such a kind, caring person and truly holds our family together, and my dad has a solid head on his shoulders – no matter the situation, you can always rely on him to think logically. Then there’s my best friend Kenny - the most honest and open person I’ve ever come across; she is such a rational thinker and truly inspires me to be the best version of myself every day. Oh, and we can’t forget about our lovely MD, Becks – a true businesswoman who is the definition of a solution-finder. She also is an amazing role model who demonstrates how you can be a busy mum and a business owner all at once!”
“It has to be Instagram. Honestly, I think I have a minor addiction to the platform – especially since I started sharing hiking content on @TheAdhocExplorer.”
“Varied, exciting, and busy!”
“We’re such a supportive team – we celebrate each other’s successes, encourage one another to learn new skills and just generally help each other.”
“I spend most of my spare time out and about hiking, so my influencer of choice has to be someone outdoorsy! I’m going to say @melf_fielding and @megg.holloway - both are open and honest about their experiences and are genuinely lovely people to be around. Plus, they go on some amazing adventures which inspire me daily.”
“I love an activation. Anything that brings a brand to life and gets the product in the hands of the target audience works for me. For this reason, I think Kellogg’s pop-up cereal cafes are a firm favourite - it’s an activation that was successful back in 2020, and they’ve since reshaped and recreated it over the years. I also love cereal, so that probably influences my choice!”
