Davide X-PLODEs onto the Scene

Leading sports nutrition brand SCI-MX hit the refresh button in the summer of 2023 and is now emerging stronger than ever before.

As part of its resurgence, SCI-MX onboarded Hop&Co. as its new marketing partner, and together, we embarked on a 360-marketing approach to reignite the brand.

To ensure both the industry and consumers alike knew the brand was back with a vengeance, we orchestrated not one but two dynamic events all in one day to announce the return of SCI-MX to the sports and nutrition game and to launch the brand-new pre-workout product X-PLODE, along with an exciting celebrity Brand Champion to boot.

X-PLODE Pre-Workout offers a convenient, ready-to-drink pre-workout and energy nutrition solution in a can, packed with essential ingredients, including natural caffeine, to elevate gym and sports performance by improving endurance, performance and energy.

SCI-MX’s inaugural Brand Champion, entrepreneurial dynamo Davide Sanclimenti, first made waves as the victorious Italian heartthrob of Love Island Season 8 and is now taking the fitness world by storm. Davide embodies everything SCI-MX stands for - a shared commitment to enhancing sports performance, sculpting the perfect physique, and championing overall health and well-being.

Wake up the day with Davide

As a team, we knew X-PLODE was set to redefine the world of pre-workout and energy nutrition, so it needed a launch event to suit. We kicked off with an X-PLOSIVE ‘Wake Up the Day with Davide’ event at the IceTank in Covent Garden, inspired by the famous early morning workouts hosted by Mr Motivator back in the day, and with the aim of bringing together fitness enthusiasts in a group work-out setting with a difference to buck the trend of dark mornings impacting Brits’ get up and go.

Through our strategic press releases and media outreach approach, we generated buzz around SCI-MX’s X-PLODE’s innovative features, whilst ensuring our carefully curated list of fitness influencers successfully amplified the morning event’s reach.

Team Hop&Co. welcomed exclusive fitness influencers through the door from 7am with a pre-workout treat – an X-PLODE can of their choice - followed by a fast-paced and energetic workout with Davide. We celebrated the end of the event with colourful confetti canons – the perfect way to shout that SCI-MX is back with a bang.

Post-workout, the guests were invited to browse the stocked-up showroom of SCI-MX products and to a meet and greet with both Davide and the brains behind SCI-MX’s new product, Matt Durkin and Parminder Singh. The reinvigorated class, newly enlightened by the science behind SCI-MX, then went on their way to embrace the rest of their day. For some, this meant continuing SCI-MX celebrations at the evening launch party.

Davide X-PLODE Launch Event

To keep the momentum going, our team hosted the evening launch party at the stunning OXO Tower in London’s South Bank, which we filled with the British press and media, top-notch influencers, hand-picked celebrities, successful sportspeople and household TV personalities. Our flawless event production and compelling content ensured a seamless post-launch elevation, orchestrating X-plosive SCI-MX cocktails, larger-than-life X-PLODE cans, a star-studded guestlist, luminous hula hoopers, glow-in-the-dark stilt walkers, product taste-testing, 360-booth camera, punching machine and dance battle machine, all to the panoramic backdrop of London’s iconic city skyline.

Influencers and celebrities alike shared their eventful evening across their social channels, with the press and media releasing numerous articles the next day talking about Davide, his new partnership, and his romance with Love Island sidekick Ekin-Su.
